A woman who has been living in Jamaica since November 2009 without the relevant permit was ordered deported on Friday when she appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court.
Suzan Margaret Featherstone of Nottingham, England, was fined $10,000 or 30 days' hard labour.
The investigating officer, Detective Corporal Theophelius Hunt of the Linstead Police Station, told the court that acting on information, the Linstead Fugitive Apprehension Team went to Russell Pen district outside Linstead, St Catherine.
Featherstone, who came into the island in November and failed to depart in March the following year,<span style="font-weight: bold"> grew locks to disguise herself</span>.

She allegedly told investigators that she is married. However, checks revealed no marriage took place. She was charged with breaches of the Immigration Act.
