just watched the aerial view and Jah know it was frightening to see...

BUT it was not until i heard a lady say that one of her naybos said dem was going to tuff it out...stay in dem house

she was standing where her house use to be and trust me is juss rumble...mi mean down to the timber snap i all the pieces u can imagine..

even as dem ask her if u know wat happen to the naybo, i had already thought that dat nayba not ongle dead but gawd knows whe di body mite be..

for nearly 60mls there is NOT ONE HOUSE R STRUCTURE standing...the ongle solid ting still r the many cars...now windows, obvious damage but the frames intact...twisted but the obv ious form of the car is there...

the houses r allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll destroyed

i was surpried to find out that the ones of a couple weeks ago wich hit Ar, even hit in the vicinity of mi house...that is in a valley n i always held dat dem need straight n flat land fi go bout dem bizniz.,..nothing more dan damaged trees but dangggggggg

According to reports an estimte of over 120-150 tornados blew through in just 24 hours

Tornadoes have always scared me. They are the scariest part of even hurricanes that can spawn them. I don't like the random jumping about but these came through just like the straight freight train they sound like.

The death toll in Alabama is the highest thus far - 160. I think Mississippi was 50-something. Georgia appears to still be in the teens but they put the media out the area from before sunrise when they brought in the cadaver hunting dogs.

Considering the trail could have come my way instead of north and south of ATL metro, I feel grateful but especially sad to look at the devastation. I was up until around 2 just listening out for the tornado sirens and trying not to nod off too much on the weather news in case I needed to get out my bedroom..

The death toll is now above 200 in Alabama alone.

I am from Alabama, but I'm from the gulf coast portion. My parents and many family members still live there, but the devastation occurred further north in the state.

Listening to the news, there appears to be some confusion about the difference between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. At least there was some confusion night before last. University of Alabama is in Tuscaloosa and UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) is in well obviously Birmingham and is a branch of the larger university.

I've talked to a few people in Birmingham who could barely even tell a strong thunderstorm had rolled through. It's the area around Tuscaloosa that suffered the most damage.

Considering the size of that university with an enrollment of well over 20,000 students most years, I'd be having a fit and be on the road if my child went there, and I had not made contact.
