.. accepting resignation,,,

had to accept a member of a board's (for which I'm the leader) resignation today..
the feeling sucks...

while the person was cancer that had to be removed, she just came by and was becoming emotional, still trying to explain herself..

corporate runnings sucks..

X- sounds like this should be a load off your shoulders if she was cancerous. If you truly feel she was toxic then view this as an opportunity to have a more cohesive team.

I remember working with a lady that was cancerous and even though she had quite a lot of seniority and knowledge, my boss at the time was relieved that she resigned. She was expecting him to beg her to stay but he gave her the "well if you must go, I understand." Seeeee yah! Her replacement was a better fit.

yes.. poisonous..

In a nutshell, she wants to fly, but the corp is saying, take time and walk..
Instead of slowing down, in a board meeting yesterday she starts accusing me of allowing corpotrate politics to tie our hands..

I just looked at her and said "obviously you may have some expectations that may need to be satisfied outside the relm of this group.. lets take this offline, and see anout managing that expectation.. otherwise we need to have a discussion.."
We had that discussion earlier..

its weird that I use to be the hot-head who tend to go against the suits..now I'm the one putting out someone's fire..
It sucks..

Its going to be rough, and we need synergy, not energy..
I've had to compromise my position for this, but she doesnt know that..
I'm priviy to conversations that make me fully aware that if we move too fast and too hard, the endeavor will be squashed like a bug..

Wow ! Yuh really have that corporate lingo down mi fren. Sounds like you had called an all-hands meeting before you met with her in order to reassess your company's priorities going forward and to leverage their core competency once leadership had finished dialogging around her position and decided to go in another direction at this time. And as a value oriented thought leader in the market place I'm sure you will want to hire a new partner who will aggressively champion all fiscal re-evaluation opportunities.
