KC, Munro reach U-16 hockey final

UNBEATEN Kingston College (KC) clipped Jamaica College (JC) 3-2 on penalties yesterday at the Mona Astroturf and will challenge Munro College in the final tomorrow at 4:00 pm in the ISSA/JHF Under-16 School League.
KC, who entered the semi-final without a conceding a goal, were on the path for a clean sheet when Tyrone Vernon scored from the field in the 11th minute to give the Rudolpho Johnston-coached North Street boys the lead.

But Odean Cargill responded in the 28th minute for JC to level the match.
Further play in regular time resulted in no more goals, leading to the much-feared penalty shootouts.
R-Jay Wallen, Leon Kerr, and Hakeem Brown converted the penalties for KC, with Jonte Johnson and Kawar Hamilton on target for the Old Hope Road Boys.
Meanwhile, Munro stopped Tivoli Gardens High, 4-3 on penalties, after the match ended goalless in regulation time.
Leonard Brown accounted for two of the penalties, with Kashane Jones and Javar Charlton also converting theirs. Odean Elliott, Anthony Morris, and Damaley Davis scored for Tivoli Gardens High.
For the girls, last year's finalists Alpha Academy again booked their place in the final after registering a 1-0 win over Immaculate Conception 1-0. Jhanell Johnson scored in the 13th minute for Alpha, who will play either defending champions St Andrew High or Mona High, who will play their semi-finals on Monday at 3:00 pm.
