On this day in Jamaican History: Track & field athlete, Merlene Ottey, was born on May 10th, 1960 in Cold Spring, Hanover, Jamaica. Ottey has had the longest career as a top level international sprinter & holds the record for the most Olympic appearances (7) & most women's World Championships medals (14). Here is Ottey winning her 1st gold @ 1993 World Championship in Germany.
