Cancelling with the airline

So, was supposed to be flying out on Sunday.....but things happen and you want to cancel.....don't have cancellation ins. if you get a letter from your doc. stating that u cannot travel....does anyone know if that is sufficient.....a mean do they want specifics or just saying u too ill to travel is enough.

Someone please answer me fass as me need this answer like yesterday....please and thank you

they will probably want to know some specifics so you have ask your MD to write in a good enough reason

If you did not do trip protection, it can be tricky as some airlines want you to pay the full cost towards the future trip.

My husband had to cancel an international flight but he had a document from his doctor. Another time he cancelled his trip but my husband is the kind of person who can talk the shirt and get the results that he wants. Each time he was successful and at no charge to him.


Here's what I will suggest: contact the airline and read about their cancellation policy; contact their customer support; you may have to go higher than the customer rep.. cite and give various reasons why trip is no longer feasible as originally planned. Try to see if they can change the date somewhere down the road. Expect them to charge you a fee but talk it down as much as you can.

Stormy how many months along are you ? Up to 7 mths is usually safe but your Dr knows best. I think the airline will work with you if you have a Drs note

Spoke to a friend today and he told me he cancelled an AA (local) flight and was charged $50.

if your ticket is non-refundable, you should recv a credit toward future travel for the fare + taxes. If you are going to rebook at a future date, you'll have a fee to pay or i think take that off the credit.

Sandi....I got it cancelled....and pay the cancellation fee they didn't give us too much hassle.....I guess the woman see how me look today
