Obama won because he is handsome, charismatic, a great orator, said what people wanted to hear and American voters had had enough of Bush, Cheney and the rest of those lying gangsters.
He would have won if he was green.

I agree with you on this Derek.
BUT... I would add that Obama in having gone back on most of his campaign promises ( which no rational person should ever have believed in the first place)
makes him just another one in the long line of lying gangsters sitting in the White House.

Wasn't he going to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan?

Today's news said that while he is or will be pulling U.S military out of iraq, he will be replacing 5000 (a battalion in number) with private contractors (read: mercenaries ) .

Now, doesn't that amount to a lie?

I don't think Obama's race will bring him less attention in the history books . If anything his being the first black man to ever be elected to that office will make him a historical stand out.

Even AFTER we elect the first woman to the office.

Of course school history books are always sanitized for the kids so that they do not learn of the war crimes and other shortcomings ( no Clinton jokes here) of the people who MUST be respected but I think other scholarly and objective writings will also treat him fairly if far more critically than the school fairytale history books.
