On an island that largely depends on family overseas sending back money to relatives they have left behind, I'd say Jamaica is no where near independent status.

Just look at th Dudus thing. America say &quot;jump&quot; and the government in Jamaica ask &quot;how high?&quot;, again, no independence at all.

den i know of nuff people who a plan to go back home to build and buy homes for their later years....

Well in economical terms, not even the US is. But the thought that agents of foreign governments were going to be given authority over the police force and the army is another matter.
