MIAMI -- Miami-born hip-hop artist Sean Kingston was in a Florida hospital Sunday night after he crashed into a bridge while on a jetski, WPLG-TV reported.

Kingston, 21, was reportedly in a critical condition in Jackson Memorial Hospital.

City of Miami Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene of the crash about 6:00pm local time, at a bridge connecting Miami Beach's exclusive Palm Island to the MacArthur Causeway.

A second person, an unnamed woman, was also taken to hospital.

After reportedly being discovered on MySpace, Kingson, whose birth name was Kisean Anderson, had global success with &quot;Beautiful Girls,&quot; which was released in 2007, and followed up the hit with the single &quot;Me Love.&quot;

Kingston has released two albums and recently performed live with Justin Bieber.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, authorities said.
