I would rather sit down and pick your brain than those that just seem to wait for someone to post and then just partake in trying to discredit you. (something I am guilty of at times as well) I find these folks rarely bother to post new topics of their own.

I don't agree with everything you folks post but it gives me food for thought. So just because you are constantly challenged or insulted for posting what you believe don't think there is no one reading your contributions to the site.

You know, for as much as Blu use to really make me shake my head at times, he really did leave his mark on me. He did challenge me and what I was taught to believe. Because of his views, I could never be able to be friends with Blu in real life but I respected his boldness in bringing up topics that really made for some interesting exchanges.

I hope he is keeping well.

I agree with what you said. The only thing I am a bit confused about is that your post implies a couple of things

1.Those who post the views to which you speak are not given a platform to post their topics. Their post are not censored the last time I checked. <span style="text-decoration: underline">Everyone</span> is allowed to post even if the topic is controversial or &quot;touchy.&quot; No one is trying to squash open discussion. So I am sure there is already some sense that they can always keep posting.

2. When others disagree, would you rather they keep quiet? You are promoting open discussion but in the same breath, chastising those with differing view points. They too have the right to CHALLENGE a view (respectfully I may add). Why is it when people disagree it is labeled an &quot;insult.&quot;

What's wrong with someone &quot;constantly challenging&quot; an argument, especially when others don't agree. Discussion is a two-way street.

I too welcome those posts..the good thing is, we all have the option to read or NOT to read. Chow

While I rarely post anything controversial, your post was a very nice reach-out to those who are reluctant to post for fear of getting a smiley-face or other such ridicule from people who disagree with them but who lack the command of the subject and/or the courage to take on the poster intellectually .

The man was a homophobe. He was intolerant of others because of what they are, what they were born to be. He first based his homophobia on Leviticus because he claimed to be a Christian. When I pointed out that no one follows any of the other laws and customs in Leviticus he then said it was based on his African roots.

I then pointed out that prior to the arrival of the mzungu , homosexuality was a part of the lives of many African societies .

After the white man came and inflicted his racism and intolerance on the colonized Africans, they eventually adopted and internalized the religion and intolerance of their colonial masters.
