Like:

It's easier than saying &quot;my God! Look deh! Anybody si mi dyin trial?&quot; It fits more easily into the songs as well.

it's the call an reply method of singing..

after the oh, u get another group answering, 'some a dem a holla some a bawl'

songs were sung to pass time while working so i guess it evolved out of dat

Just for some 'background' on your request:

Ending phrases with 'o' is very common not only here but also in Nigeria and probably elsewhere in Africa too (I haven't been anywhere else).

It's a sort of <span style="font-weight: bold">emphasis</span> at the end of a sentence. I once got a kitten from a starving young man who couldn't afford to feed it. It was scrawny and almost dead.
3 weeks later it was fat and healthy
I took it back to show it to him. He was so happy and he said, &quot;Oh Ma!! Ee mek FINE-O&quot;

So it's sort of a finishing touch yu si.
