Rex Nettleford helped bring Kumina to the forefront of our national attention by choreographing and performing the famous piece simple titled 'Kumina.' I saw him perform this at least twice.

so far the strongest connection to jamaican music i have seen in africa is in the gambia...
the jamaican artists get treated like royalty when they pass thru there- sizzla, buju, junior kelly, luciano, beres, morgan heritage....

i have also heard some music from mali &amp; ivory coast that strikes the jamaican ear
