Seriously, many 15th century Muslims would not recognize the repressive interpretation of the Qur'an in 21st Century Saudi Arabia. Traditional Qur’anic values of human dignity and social justice were way more progressive then than now.

This problem begins with the fact that in 2011 there is still such a thing as "a royal decree" and men and women who refer to themselves as "Kings" and "Queens".
I mean people were seriously debating Kate Middleton being "a commoner" the other day and how the sex of their offspring would determine whether the child would "ascend to the throne".
Have people lost their minds ?

whether king, queen or big money-guy behind the scenes...we are all subjects in someone's kingdom;
let's face it they are only about 100 years behind the US in terms of women voting & driving cars...

at the same time we can acknowledge that some differences are cultural and in the west women weren't/ aren't necessarily treated so great either...just in a different way
