** sigh** I find some people being a little self righteous when dem laughing at the video and then turn around and expect the Smile Jamaica hosts to keep a straight face while interviewing him. Give me a break

The thing is what is being overlooked is that during the interview ( through laughing and giggles) they asked some serious questions to Clifton and wanted to know where things stood. They gave him a platform to discuss what he wanted to discuss... Clifton twanging during the interview is fodder for laughter . I cyaan blame dem fi dat. Mi coulda neva look pan even di yute wid di TShirt weh seh &quot;Di bus can swim&quot; an not BOAL! Sometime wi fi lighten up an tap tek wi self soh dyam serious ..

Yes,admittedly there *is* some humour to be gleaned from the situation,and I was one of those that found the video very very funny,but oddly enough it wasnt his accent or him that I found humorous about the edited video,it was the way it was put together...including the background images especially of the cat.
If you look at the original interview there is nothing funny about it,just another interview of a guy talking about local rural issues,without the clever editing it,s kinda boring.

However,the smile jamaica interview was just unadulterated p!ss taking of the guy,but I feel that with all his well intentioned aims about the bridge he too will soon allow the celebrity thing to cloud his judgement and lose sight of the real perspective....he,s even calling himself &quot;clifftwang&quot; for petes sake.

The whole thing is a classic example of how culturally jamaicans can laugh and find humour in the most dire of situation,...in most other country there would now be a massive donation campaign underway to help the community build a bridge,...but jamaicans just make a music video of the interview,name a dance from it,put the guy on tv have a laugh about it,...and he changes his name to some funny alias to reflect his newfound fame.
