johnnycakes - that excellent piece really brings it all back!!
But by the same token, it is no doubt quite incomprehensible to anybody from later generations who 'wasn't there'.

The division he speaks of was very palpable. To the 'yippies', the mention of anything that smacked of political ideology was as TABOO as the mention of religion or God or - Heaven forbid! - <span style="font-style: italic">Muslims</span> is today.

Some of us were fence-sitters - and perhaps even may still be.

The mention of Can-Do enthusiasts is very apt. these people are clearly victims of the usual brainwashing who assume that 'their country' always has good intentions because they believe that they themselves do. And they are cynically exploited/manipulated by the evil psychopathic geniuses behind the scenes who say one thing but demonstrate that nothing could be further from the truth.

But serial killers always WERE very charming and seductive manipulators and the only thing that has changed is that now it is THEY who are running the world.

THE SADNESS!!

The exponential technological advances in AI leading to likewise exponential advances in medicine, food production, education for all.
Look into the &quot; Singularity&quot;which is in many places on the net.

Ray Kurzweil wrote &quot;The Singularity is Near&quot;. He has been running about 90+% accurate on his technological predictions based on Moore's Law which says that the speed of computers and the reduction in size and price is doubled or cut in half every few years.

Monk and a few of us have had long discussions on the Singularity at the Religion +Philosophy forum.

There are many doubters whom Kurzweil handles quite well in the concluding chapter of his book and he is constantly on the road answering the doubters.

You would have to read his book to grasp what he is predicting and why the doubters have little ground upon which to stand.

There is also his website at kurzweilAI.net that puts up all the latest technological/medical/ AI developments.

Thanks for showing us these videos, Leddih.

The NATO Propaganda Machine spread the vicious lie near the beginning of the War in Libya that Col. Quaddafi had hired all sorts of 'black mercenaries' fom outside the country to fight his own people. Col.Qhaddafi vehemently denied this and said it was rubbish.
But it caused the 'Arab' population to turn on and attack any black they saw in the streets, which necessitated the rapid repatriation of all the hundreds of thousands of workers from West Africa who had gone to Libya to seek greener pastures
. When my grandson returned he personally told me that the black soldiers in question were regular members of the Libyan Army and not outsiders. In Libya as elsewhere the Army employs proportionately more Blacks than other people.

But to expect better from the Psychopaths who have just destroyed 70% of the Libyan civilian water supply PLUS the factory that manufactures the pipes to repair it is a bit
too optimistic. Their punishment will be in the Eternal Hereafter they don't believe in!!
