Derek, how do you view the current situation, you couldnt make up such a story,it,s moving so fast with so many twists and turns this one is definitely going to run,and I think quite a few others from high places will fall.
I am glad the spotlight is finally being shown on the relationship between not only the press and politicians and police, but in particularly on rupert murdochs media empire.
For far too long he has used his newspapers to determine the outcome of major elections in this country, and has manipulated the political process to suit his own interests,I wouldnt be surprised if in the coming days/weeks a few top scalps from government falls as well, serves them bloody right,.........the bloody hypocrites.

Natral,
While true about Murdoch, all you said can also be said of most news organizations which are owned by wealthy corporations in whose interest it is to elect right wing governments in most countries.
The Gleaner had a big involvement in anti-Manley propaganda during the trouble years.
The NYT pushed the Iraq war when it knew the WMD claims were lies.
It goes way back and it is now far more prevalent than in years past when there were small news organizations interested in printing the truth.
