Yeah,...that is typical of Jamaica,people will laugh at themselves if it means eating a food out of it,dignity comes at a price,the bridge takes second place now to &quot;clifftwang,s business ambitions,........he,s even wearing sunshades in the studio,...what a baxide !.

This is the same phenomenon as Antoine Dodson. Here's the pattern as I see it:

1. Inarticulate man publicly expresses himself about a serious issue.
2. General public laughs at inarticulateness and disregards the serious issue.
3. Somebody with too much time on their hands makes a remix of inarticulate comments.
4. Others make hay (and money) from said comments.
5. Inarticulate man decides that he might as well make some money as everyone else is.
6. Serious issue raised in the first place is never dealt with.

At the end of the day, working class see that their plight is not taken seriously, so why bother getting involved, voting, obeying laws, denouncing injustice, etc. if it's only to be made fun of.

I agree with you that in most cases, the real issue is not dealt with. But you can't throw the baby out with the water . Had it not been for the Refix and social media, the issue of the bridge would NOT have gotten this much attention at all! So I am not going to condemn those that did the Refix (with a comedic spin), the interviews, the forwarding of the video.. those things worked in concert to bring light to the issue.. Same with Antoine Dodson. What's missing is the real call to action.
