Stephen Wiltshire MBE, (born 24 April 1974) is an architectural artist who has been diagnosed with autism.[1][2] Wiltshire was born in London, England, to West Indian parents.[1] He is known for his ability to draw a landscape after seeing it just once.

I saw him on PBS a few years ago -- it might have been a BBC documentary. It showed him walking around London and then from memory he would produce perfect architectural renderings of the buildings he had visited. Genius I tell you absolute genius (I believe that he was discussed on this board some time ago - not sure). It would take a professional renderer weeks to produce the same work he does in a day or two.

autism (Wiltshire is autistic) is something that has fascinated scientists for many years, and they are trying to unlock its code. interestingly, a noted autistic is herself a scientist - Dr. Temple Grandin.

temple grandin, like stephen wiltshire, is a high-functioning autistic. she possesses abilities similar to wilshire's:

when I lived in NY there was a man who was autistic who could render very detailed drawings like that
