The U.S. Olympic Committee have ordered the organisers of the Redneck Olympics to rename the event, claiming they do not have the right to use the word Olympics in its title.
Maine Redneck Olympics organiser Harold Brooks said he received a phone call on Monday from his lawyer telling him he had to change the name of the event or face a lawsuit.
Activities at the Redneck Olympics last week included wife-carrying, beer-swilling, bobbing for pigs' feet, toilet-seat horseshoes, lawn mower races, a mud run and a pie-eating contest.
