Yes---same here as well Roots. We interact with each other daily and in some ways, everyone here is an extended family.

My eyes teared up reading about nanceejay's passing.

I hear you Roots about the extended family for real.

I did have the pleasure of meeting her in person. We both resided in the same part of Atlanta lived about 10mins away from one another. Even ran into her at the grocery store a couple of times (in the Carribbean section) LOL! She was a very nice lady....Will miss her!

My prayers go out to her family!

giving the wide spectrum of how u can love , i will admit dat i am fond of a couple peeps on yah...dont know dem as in having met dem in person...but i plan on meeting dem one day...top of the list r just two....irony is dat wid one we have not trod an even road wid di give n take but i have really grown to be fond of dis person...n she is a non black too...

the thing is, we get to know folks on here on Jcans.com in a certain way, but then, we still need the offline relationships to complete the picture.

to this day, i wonder about servant, who i think was said he was sick and then just never came back. i dont think anyone knew him outside of jamaicans.com, so what happened to him is not known.

believe it or not, i've on occasion wondered that if i were to die, who would let jamaicans.com know. (Hope Compray know that it is her i have in mind.)

This got me thinking of another site I visit often, (a Cuban travel site). One of the long time boardites passed away from a stroke. He had a family and was in his early 50s. One of the fellow boardites found out the details of the funeral and posted it and quite a few of the regulars on that site who were able, attended his funeral, even though they had never met him in person. His family was a bit surprised to see how many of his fellow boardites showed up as they knew very little about what he was involved in while he was on line for all those years. It was a whole other side of him that they were able to discover and his wife was very touched. A very nice and knowledgeable guy who had traveled independently throughout Cuba extensively and by giving much advice, helped a lot of people enjoy their experiences while holidaying in Cuba as well. May he RIP!
