Jah Cure MOBO axe over rape

A REGGAE artist has been axed from this year's MOBO awards nominations — because he's a convicted rapist.

Jah Cure was up for the Best Reggae Act, despite only being released from jail in 2007.

The singer, 33 — real name Siccature Alcock — was locked up in 1999 for the gunpoint assault in Jamaica.

Organisers said they acted after being told about the conviction and "severity of the crime".

It's not the first controversial MOBO nomination. Reggae acts Vybz Kartel and Elephant Man were both axed in 2004 in a row over homophobic lyrics.

The mobo is well respected here by both white and black BRITISH artistes,it carries a lot of kudos for artistes who have been nominated,or have received awards,it has grown from strength to strength since it started,it doesnt need international publicity,it is a totally BRITISH conception,and the people who take part in it are happy for it to stay that way,there is no &quot;high&quot; people from the east end,the east end is,and has always been known as a totally working class area,participants of the mobo are drawn from ALL areas of british society.

As for mr plead-not-guilty rapist,....they are absolutely right in excluding his rapist baxide from the event,you are right on one thing though,you dont know how you would have felt if you were the victim of mr rapist, let,s hope you are never put in that situation.

Lol !..sorry I missed this little ditty,...dont give me jokes in here today,..obviously what YOU know about the east end can be written on the back of a postage stamp,and licked with a big dollop of ignorance.
Unlike you I dont lay claim to be an expert on the east end,but I have been to that area of london enough times,and partied there enough to know that THEY ARE NOT ALL DRUNKS.

However,yes you are correct,I live a bush,and proud of it,..I see the green fields of britain whenever I open my window,rolling acres of green grass,...most of which belongs to me.
During the last 2 months I have been to 3 major european cities,2 US cities,stopping off briefly down mexico, 2 caribbean islands,and managed to squeeze in Jamaica in the process.
I have sat next to or rubbed shoulders with enough celebrities,politicians,and royalties to give you a major nose bleed,I make no assumptions about people,s lives on here and what they do,which you obviously do with your deluded self,....but one thing I can give you props for,you certainly know your place,...that you went to the <span style="font-weight: bold">isle of dawgs</span> is quite appropriate.
