Re: how did 9/11 change UR life?
Wow Wahalia. You certainly had a lot going on.
I remember the day clearly as anything. My car was being repaired at the Goodyear down the block from me, and I took a taxi to work which was only a couple of miles away.
Ahmad Dabdoub picked me up. The first lesson was not to pronounce his name ah-mahd but accck=mahd. When he dropped me off at work and everybody was surrounding a television, I thought I might truly need to pinch myself to wake up. Things were not as normal at all.
While watching, the second plane crashed into the towers and I thought, rather matter of factly, we're under attack what do I do now. Work was completely dismissed and I tried to call a couple of friends in NYC with no results. I suppose you could say I got a house landline again because of the failure of cell phones that day.
We (family and friends) have a meeting spot on the Appalachian Trail. It is a certain location in the wilderness if push comes to shove and we are unable to make phone contact. You need a compass and have to walk it on foot.
