Tonight mi was driving in di Bronx....feeling cool inna mi car an lissening some Beres fi relax mi soul...I was heading back home when all of a sudden mi hear dis helluva scream!

sorry mi multitasking..
mi was approaching an intersection...to my right was a steep slope of a street and on it was a little boy who looked to be around 11, and a girl on the handlebars who looked to be around 7 or 8..an dem coming down di street and were unable to stop. A dollar van was right before mi going through the intersection...at the same time a car was coming from the opposite direction of the hill and making a left turn which would put them in between me and the dollar van. Me was suppose to go through and was about to when mi see di kids dem coming hard..mi slam on mi brakes.... In that split second I prayed that it would go through fast enough so the kids would miss it and continue straight cross....the kids slam straight inna di car

The little boy was badly hurt..he was limping and blood was streaming from the side of his head..the car that he hit drove off!!
Mi pull di car to di side an jump out same time...by dat time pedestrians and neighbors come out a dem house..mi call 911...
mi seh all di likkle boy deh pan is bere bawling: "don't call the police! don't call the ambulance! my mom's gonna kill me!"
mi affi seh no dawlin is ok yu mother love yu an she gonna be glad yu still alive.
"No! My dad's gonna kill me!"
Di likkel girl did not appear to be hurt but was crying out of shock and I guess cah she knew di boy was gwen be in trouble too.
When the EMT showed up dem put him pan stretcher and mi had to plead wid dem fi carry di girl go check her out...dem jus use dem flashlight an examine her visually for scratches or bruises...it was dark in di area an mi si di girl fly off a di handle bar right before mi..so mi plead wid one very handsome specimen of a cop fi mek sure she go to the hospital and get checked out..she was frantic but mi calm her down an she ride in di ambulance wid di boy.

I can only imagine the terror everyone experienced. So the medics took them to the hospital before parent's arrived? Did anyone call the parents from the scene?
Suh Skelly, yuh get any sleep last night?

The neighbors called the parents but they did not show up at the scene so I guess they went straight to the hospital to meet them there. I did not rest well at all last night. :-(Comment

i feel sorry for the little boy especially that "my mom is gonna kill me". pity she never taught him how to navigate on his bike and to wear a helmet and not to ride someone on handlebars, especially on a busy street from the sounds of it.Comment

Of course dem neva did a wear nuh helmet. The dollar van was not the car they hit and no ...we never got a plate number. The dollar van driver did stop and stayed at the scene. Yes we're OK. Yes mi need a vacation.Comment

Sue mi did feel so bad fi di likkle boy. Him was so badly hurt yet still him did hellbound fi go home just fi escape the anticipated buss arse and tongue lashing.

You forgot on a steep hill. Bronx have some hellavah inclines, can't stand driving around some of those streets, zero visibility the way the hills are steep.7/5th of all people do not understand fractions.Comment
