<span style="font-weight: bold">The Taxil Hoax: Lucifer's alleged connection with Freemasonry</span>
Léo Taxil (1854–1907) claimed that Freemasonry is associated with worshipping Lucifer. In what is known as the Taxil hoax, he claimed that supposedly leading Freemason Albert Pike had addressed "The 23 Supreme Confederated Councils of the world" (<span style="font-weight: bold">an invention of Taxil</span>), instructing them that Lucifer was God, and was in opposition to the evil god Adonai. <span style="font-weight: bold">Apologists of Freemasonry contend that, when Albert Pike and other Masonic scholars spoke about the "Luciferian path," or the "energies of Lucifer," they were referring to the Morning Star, the light bearer,[26] the search for light; the very antithesis of dark, satanic evil.</span> Taxil promoted a book by Diana Vaughan (actually written by himself, as he later confessed publicly)[27] that purported to reveal a highly secret ruling body called the Palladium, which controlled the organization and had a Satanic agenda. As described by Freemasonry Disclosed in 1897:
<span style="font-style: italic"> With frightening cynicism, the miserable person we shall not name here [Taxil] declared before an assembly especially convened for him that for twelve years he had prepared and carried out to the end the most sacrilegious of hoaxes. We have always been careful to publish special articles concerning Palladism and Diana Vaughan. We are now giving in this issue a complete list of these articles, which can now be considered as not having existed.[28]</span>
Taxil's work and Pike's address continue to be quoted by anti-masonic groups.[29]
In Devil-Worship in France, Arthur Edward Waite compared Taxil's work to what today we would call a tabloid story, replete with logical and factual inconsistencies.
When I was very young, my Father, who never had an evil bone in his body, was invited to join the local branch of the Masonic Lodge, which invitation he accepted.
He went to their meetings about once every two weeks, but he had been sworn to secrecy about what actually went on there. I always wondered what it was that was so important for them to keep so secret. After about 2 years he stopped going. To this day, I have no idea what at all it was about, but at the time it seemed that it was some sort of 'Service Club' like the Rotary Club or Lions Club.
read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, Ms Peaches. it goes into all of that. some of it is also in Da Vinci Code.
in the old days, the art of masonry (yes, building wth stone, plaster, etc) was jealously guarded as a way of maintaining a monopoly on that aspect of construction. Dan Brown's research/thesis is that masons' ability to form curved stone structures (e.g. in doorways, under viaducts) reflected specialized knowledge of engineering and physics. i think that's why the compass is part of the masonic symbol.
masons kept together to protect and pass on this knowledge, and, as with a lot of secret societies (including the one that jesus was a part of), knowledge was taught and revealed in stages commensurate with the learner's experience and maturity.
the masons eventually spread their actions into philanthropy, but at heart, their rituals etc were to protect a trade secret.
years ago i saw a special on television where an african "magician" would perform a secret ritual that gave him tremendous power among his people. his "magic" was essentially the ability to create iron metal.

MGee, guys like George Bush and the guy in the video are masons, but not masons in the sense you describe.
I doubt if they know anything about sacred geometry.
Freemasonry was hijacked because of its secrecy, by people with other secrets to hide.

the master stone-cutters preceded hiram abif...
to this day their masonry has not been equalled even by modern equipment...
why you think the dollar bill has a pyramid on it and the egyptian all-seeing eye of horus

in masonic ceremony is centered around the building of kings solomons temple
When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....
the original stonecutters wee from ancient nile valey (close in distance to jerusalem by the way)...
it is only the more recent worldwide anti-african conspiracy which has clouded the origins of the original stone-cutters so that these misinformed new day masons think the origin is king solomons temple
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Emperah_dehyah</div><div class="ubbcode-body">too bad the king solomons temple is just a myth as there is no <span style="text-decoration: underline">evidence</span> of it anywhere. </div></div>
don't think it would make any difference.

Thanks for the information, Sista MGee. Books and bookstores are in short supply in Ghana and so it's unlikely I'll ever come across that one.
There are all sorts of magicians in Africa who can do just about anything, but mostly they make trouble for other people - FOR A PRICE!! . I have experienced a few and heard some horror stories too.
