In your scenario at least the person is acknowledging that they owe yuh ..In my case a mi have to bring it up an mi fine miself a bring it up very gingerly ..like a badda mi a badda di smaddy

All now mi cyaan get back mi money an it come in like dat haffi right off.

You need to borrow something valuable of their's (should they have such a thing) and tell them you just need it for a day or so, then hold it hostage until they pay you back.

Golf clubs, stereo equipment , a cool jacket they own etc.... .

But I have to hand it to them, it's a brilliant tactic!
