The plight of the First Nation in the US is more than a crying shame

Diane Sawyer reporting on the Pine Ridge Reservation in S.D. The whole thing is disheartening for the most part but this tidbit really struck me...the Reservation I'd dry but a likkle town next to it wid a population of 14, provides the 4 liquor store that they buy ...last year just 1 of those 4 stores made $7 million ...of course di owners don't live dere n u can guess dem race

It was a wonderful show. I wish it had been 2 hours. Crying effin shame, so glad to see it finally on "big tv"...as one native friend put it.

one of those liquor stores made $7 million (from a population of 14??)

Words nuh really exist fi describe this disaster.

A similar piece was done several years ago, probably on Dateline can't quite recall the location of that reservation. That reservation profiled was better off than the one shown tonight though and certainly wasn't done over a year.

When they showed the accident mi was just praying it wasn't one of the children featured, still sad.

The reservation heads have a no alcohol policy on the reservation suh anybody who want drink have to go to the likkel town/area next to dem dat have a population of 14 and 4 liqa stores/bars etc.

Dem have di likkel watermelon flavah alcoholic drinks that geared toward young people suh dem get hook very young.
