the party issue is one that will not be remove no matter what system is introduced...the tribalism is part of the fabric of the society..as the song goes its too late to turn back now

but the parish council are right now the ones who are supposed to be be dealing with the day to day needs of the people. the average person would rarely have an interaction with his MP

Its a whole bloodied mess. What has Jamaica gained in the last 30-50 years?
A ultra-classist society. The haves vs the have nots. More crime. More violent deaths. An economy in shambles. An increasingly semi literate people. A society with increasing broken families. A church that leans more on popularism and lesser on morality. A nation with no common goals. A people living by short term, day to day survival. A hungry people unable to plan long term.
A gutless partisan politics.

What good we have is a beautiful tropical island, blessed with fertile plains, huge mountains, lovely coastal beaches, coves and harbours, pure water, clean air and a PEOPLE wanting opportunity and leadership never before witnessed in our history.

They how can an MP represent his constituency if he's out of touch with the people.

Also, the MP should be from the district he represents. Those who get power rule West Kingston. Would love to see these uptown folk to move to their constituency.

trini still use westminister system as far as i know the only difference is that they have a president as titular head of state rather than the queen ..the PM is still the head of the government and leader.

uts similar the your congressman in the US..how close is he to the district affairs?...most of the day to day stuff impacting people is dealt with by the local govt..city county etc
