Earth-like planet

A ‘habitable’ earth-like planet, which is orbiting around a sun-like star 600 light years away, has been discovered in our galaxy for the first time, researchers say. A team of researchers from NASA’s Kepler Mission has discovered what could be a large, rocky planet with a surface temperature of about 72 degrees Fahrenheit, comparable to a comfortable spring day on Earth.

I recall being called ignorant on here when I pointed out some time back that contary to the youtube video that there were not hundreds of earth like plannets..yet discovered..

there is another one that is at the edge of the cinderalla region...and there is a dispute whether it is or not...

the reports I read there are is uncertainity whetrer it is a gas plant or rock.. note how earth like this is subject to debate.. in the event that this plannet was of the same consistency of earth the gravity would be 6.25 g where g is the gravity of earth (g is directly proportional to the square of mass ) .. water I beleive would boil at a much higher temperature water (I cant remember the equations but I beleive it wouls be a factor of gravity so either 250 C or 625 C)and would freeze at a much higher temp.. I seem to recall that Boltzman constant would be the same, but gravity would be the varible so about 60 C..

I need to find my old copy of Nelkon... Do you have yours still Rich D have a look up the page on thermodynamics ??? It has been 31 years since I spent a summer reading that bloody thing!


So despite the spring day temp I suspect life would be rather uncomfortable....

But what do I know ??? Just an Oyibo wannabe....and stupid...

Good.. u wont get there.. If u could get NERVA system approved...the fastest speed possible is I beleive 0.1 C.....see u there in 6000 years.. (NERVA was the system postulated that where by u drop a nuclear bomb in series behind a hardened shield on which was fixed a space ship...)....the only current technology concept that only needs to be engineered for it to work.. I beleive Von Brun et al proved that it could be done using conventional explosives in the early part of the sixes......

Didn't you hear recently that some scientist over in Switzerland proved that Einstien was wrong? It is in fact possible to travel faster than light.

Yes but the dust on that one not settle yet as they it could be a matter of some sort of circular logic or gravitational influence.

Years a go a read that gravity and tachyons are faster than light and mystics have always said that thought is instantaneous
