There was a regiment out of Louisana that was made up of Free Blacks.. Once new orleans was taken by the Northern Yanki forces they defected en masse.. The interesting fact about this regiment was it was officered by African Americans.. In fact it made the confedarate states army the first yanki army to have Afro Yanki officers..

There were also a evidence though the documentary evidence is not clear that Black Yanki would have been shooting at hte Unuion armies.. There were in fact a number who claimed pensions for their service during the yanki civil war.. one claim I beleive was made as late as teh 1920's....

depends on who controls the media &amp; thereby public opinion...

at the very least, reparations should be given to the descendants or living parties of the americans of african descent whose farmlands were either confiscated or legislated from them in the south..and to the victims of the tulsa, oklahoma riots in which the black community was destroyed by savage white mobs

there were also blacks that wanted the status quo to remain as is--- they wanted slavery...(shrug)

you can always find stockholm syndrome- even to this day

..and dont forget the native americans (the true, true americans) also the japanese interned during ww11 all want their cut too
