actually i would argue that is not true

under Micheal Manley the PNP moved to the left and flirted with socialism... when they returned to power in 89 the had moved back to the right (Micheal evel lost his Kariba suits) since then the PNP has been the party of big business. I think the Labour party in Jamaica in more in line with the philosophy of traditional UK labour parties.

TG, i agree with you about the pnp leadership, Lisa Hanna i cant recall ever really listening to her before, so I cant say she messed this up and its a first time, or she is just a pretty duntz, i cant tell u, but i do know that Sista P, if she no step down, pnp a go loose.....pj was no good leader either, he was a complete [censored], bout man have more car, more gyal, dyaaam embarrassing

now Golding, i dont know wha fe say, i really dont think he was that bad, Holness, i def think is too young, and inexperience, but i would a willing to give him a shot at it, so if i was voting now, I would vote JLP,

and thanks for answering my questions.....i really wanted to know if ppl still a vote for the party dem did born and see, or dem really a consider and weight the consequences....so bigup again

<span style="font-weight: bold">Bruise</span> was a total washout from the start....but no one never believed I years ago when I predicted it. He started with a poor vetting of his Candidates, allowing a costly Dual Citizens battle that lasted four years, then the poor Cabinet selection filling it with inept Union Leaders, then late going to the IMF, not carrying out the IMF/GOJ Agreement to the Letter.
The Dudus, etc, etc.
His best trick was to resign and hand it over to Drew!

LOL...I was in Jamaica (North Coast) all this week thru Friday. The one thing I can say is I saw PNP workers going door to door. They were everywhere. I saw orange everywhere. All the people I spoke to who were JLP supporters did not vote apart from one I knew that traveled to Kingston from Ocho Rios. Ever PNP supporter I spoke to went out and voted. This is not scientific but I got the feeling that JLP thought it was in the bag...It was a very civil election. I was out walking on election night...

That makes no sense. How could they think it was in the bag when every published poll said it was going to be close? Elections can be won on the day, if you have people on the ground knocking on doors and offering to give people a ride to the polls. I am shaking my head not so much at the loss, but at the magnitude of the loss. A closer result helps to keep the winner honest. This landslide results hurts Jamaica IMO.

A. it sends a clear message. The JLP got paid in full for all the mistake they kept on making.
B. The Comrades have zero excuse now to run a good economy. They have all the power they need. If the JLP had won would have wished for a sweep as well. This how Elections must be won in Jamaica. One side with a commanding victory, as in 1980, 1989.
