That was probably part of it. But none of the JLP newbie candidates won and I think it was a mistake to foist those candidates on people and not give them sufficient time to do work in their constituency.

As I said before the election, there are no solutions presented, no manifesto, just hype.

hindsight is 20/20 ..
if the elections were called next year, the results would likely be the same and we would have said, he should have called the elections earlier..

the reality is that regardless of who in &quot;power&quot; its still our Jamaica, and no matter where in the world you spend most of the 365 days/year, we have to do our little bit towards the nation's success..

No it could have been as late as December 2012. Holness and his team miscalculated badly, very very badly. Maybe they would still have lost but it would not have been by this big a margin. Those new JLP candidates and the JLP MPs that won in 2007 by small margins needed to be doing months of work in their constituencies. Also they ran a god awful campaign - the 'youth' party had very little internet or mobile presence. I blame Samuda for that. The man looked tired and pop down from before the campaign start. They also failed to connect with people on bread and butter issues.

Wat is doing our part?...I find it interesting that even though we say this , some of us still blind ourselves to the reality that is the truth...in reading reactions say on FB, I read people saying things like &quot;Now all Jcans can come together to wk for a new day&quot; n wen I ask y dem cudden come together yessiday n do dat, I.e. wk for a new day, wat is the new factors dat been put in place, people revert to tribalism n next ting dem unfren u ... No one wants to step away from the SSDD, or it could b dat dem juss plain chupid n get upset wen asked to explain dem blind adherence just fi adherence sake.... I am amazed that given all the factors against us people really seem to believe that this win is somehow going to miraculously bring about immediate n profound change...or is it that people just like to see dem party in power? Regardless

TreyJ, u make some interesting points.
While I did notice much social media activities from the PNP, I just chalked it up to the fact that most of my (real life) friends was in the PNP than JLP and as a result I was following their social feeds more.
But when curiousity lead to a reach out to connect to JLP feed, their so-me activity seemd very limited and im-personal.. somewhat aloof.
Most just had a static presence.. while the PNP web presense was very dynamic, personable and active, almost to the point of irritating (to a Laborite like miself).

I'm now watching to see, and actually hoping that, this level of PNP social media activity continues as it seems that aloofness is one of the side-effects of being in leadership..

each person has to decide what part they can and willing to play. Some will make an impact for others awile some simply wont.
The impact will vary from little impact to great.
But from experience, you'd be amazed just how connected Jamaica is and just how by an individual with some means investing in small projects in Jamaica can change the lives of few..

The change in adminsitration results in uncertainty (in an already uncertain global economy
Some of these small investors are faced with the question of pulling out now to secure themselves from exposure (dramaitic currency devaluation for example - termination of current government programs that helps to get goods to market) which will result in financial insecurity for some individuals depending on the employment, or these small investors can decide take a leap of faith, and stay put.
