Re: Gen, Gen, Gen!!
Sorry - just need to bother u with a question if I may ...
Generally speaking - so I know that one can open a Roth IRA and (in addition to it being a good savings vehicle) it'll help lower your tax bill, right ... ?
But is it true that if I'm ALREADY, in a 401k at work, then opening the Roth doesn't give any savings on my tax bill?
Ah suh it guh?

Re: Gen, Gen, Gen!!
hola
contributions to the roth are not tax dedectible today, so you wouldn't be able to deduct the contribution on your return, and it would not lower the amount of your income to be taxed, however, when you qualify to withdraw the money, it may be tax free.
because it is not tax deductible (today), then it nuh really matter if yuh in 401k or not.
and yes you can be in both, roth and 401k
