.. what a prekey!!

so just now, I had a jog on the beach, nyam some lunch and walking up to my room..
now, say I am on the 6th floor on this block in the resort,and staying in room(say) 64...
Room 64 is two doors from the stairs.
Not paying attention I turned on the 5th floor,
Turned to door, put the keys in, turn, and the entire core of the lock inside the knob comes off in the keys..
The door opens.

I am walking in, looking up slowing, there is something unfamiliar about this room.
The suit cases looks different, infact I had packed mine away.
lo and behold, I'm IN ANOTHER GUEST"S ROOM!

Mi back step out,
close the door
eject the core from the keys.
Try to press it back into the knob.. unsuccessfull
Drop the core on the ground.
Come to my room, and dial the front desk..
Tell them what happened..The person answering could sound a bit more appreciative..

As I write this, she just now called me.

She says"just want to let you know that we are replacing the lock and what just happened not normally happens.."

Mi tell her its ok..I run a couple properties up north and mi understand a faulty lockwill pop up sometime..

Aie sah.. what a prekey!

that happened to me recently...

we couldn't remember our room number, pushed key in lock, door fly open, entered room, looked around slowly... different suitcases... something nuh right. We were in the wrong room! Figured out our room was couple doors down. Hmm... so one key fits all doors at this hotel or on this floor? We called reception and let them know..so they took the room key from us and gave us another.

mi JUST dun lunch..
walking up the stairs
turn the keys in the door
knob turns with the keys
mi open the door
and I am looking at a white couple standing in the living room, chating with someone (in uniform) from the resort siting in the couch

I walked into the same WRONG room again!!!

They look , not as surprised as I'd expect someone to be after seeing a strange black man walking into their room..
They actually laugh at the puzzeled embarassed look on my face, mi steeping back to confi, the room number.. and the guys goes, &quot;Come on in!&quot;
The person working for the resort (seeing the look on my face and me checking the door lock) goes, &quot;no worries the door was open&quot;
Mi apologise and said, I am in the room right above this one.. then exit quickly to dem laughter..

aie sah..mi getting old and senile now..
