i actually have this favorited on my youtube channel from a time now...

i think the word &quot;sabi&quot; for know or understood might actually be from the spanish &quot;saber&quot;-- to know...like &quot;tu sabe&quot; (you know)...
since the maroons had greater connection to the spanish occupation of the island than the subsequent afrikan populations
