prejudice against same ethnic group?

So, have been looking through Google Books and this book: "Race, Nation and West Indian Immigration to Honduras". I found out that in the early 1920s-1940s, Honduran United Fruit Company workers launched a strike against West Indian immigrants and that the Honduran government passed anti-immigration laws "to restrict the entry of these people whose native language is not Spanish".
What would anyone here think in genera; about a person being prejudiced against other people of the same ethnic group?
