Speaking from the perspective of someone who does take care of someone with significant health issues, in places where parking is a difficulty, a second driver is very necessary. It is far easier for me to drop my mom in front of the building and den go find de parking than have her walk up &amp; down wid ar cane after she find parking howmuch blocks away.

Like I told Evanovitch, the public seems to have the press's idea of East Orange, and that's not completely true.

Eh... Irvington is a different story altogether. I am not aware of anything nice or safe in Irvington. I may just be unaware of such places... but from what I've seen and heard - there just isn't any nice or safe places there in Irvington any more.

car automatically locks doors when the car goes in excess of 10mph so a non issue for me However when I go there with boyKia he checks because a good friend of ours teaches in Irvington and boyKia has heard the teachers war stories

Kia I would buy that if someone needs to take an extra person wherever he or she goes due to healh issues. In this case the comment was <span style="font-weight: bold">very specific </span> about travel to an area where the majority of the population fits a certain demographic. That plus the <span style="font-weight: bold">LONG </span> protest mek me feel that Vannie was right on the money and very perceptive (and you know that many time Vannie and me noh 'gree...we noh even talk.)

That's right, Kia... and Tropicana.

I even posted a television news clip of myself being interviewed by Brenda Flanagan on Channel 9 regarding an issue surrounding my run for election as City Council Member At-Large here in Orange. The political thing has been discussed in several threads lately. It's no secret.

I have been walking my petitions (to gain access to the ballot - ie, to become a qualified candidate on the ballot) all over the city, in all sorts of areas. (&quot;walking&quot; my petitions meaning with a second driver and a car to follow me and help me out, and with other people to help me when I can't get out any longer that day and make it to front doors) No fear. I don't fear anywhere in Orange, nor do I fear anywhere in East Orange. Nor West Orange, nor South Orange, come to that. Might as well get all of the Oranges mentioned and out of the way. dwl I just don't need a police escort; I don't have any fear. What I need, at times, is a second driver to drop me off close to a building, because I can't walk very far and I can't always park close enough to be within my personal walking distance - even with my state-issued handicap parking placard. <span style="font-style: italic">NO ONE</span> will ever understand just how much it costs me to get out there and get my petitions signed to gain access to the ballot - but I'm stubborn and I feel seriously adamant about this.

Wendy, you have to see Mendham to understand it. Mendham is one of the priciest places in the whole state of NJ to live. It's really beautiful there.

Mendham is a nice town.. use to pass it when going to Morristown for work. but agree with gen, Whitney was living on advances therefore the $$ neva flow as much so dem probably trying to get rid of it quickly.

btw i read on huff post dat Dolly Parton is raking in nuff royalties ova her signature song. De article did go on to say Whitney neva wrote the songs or the music she was just a singer.

Actor Kevin Costner, who starred with Whitney Houston in the 1992 hit movie &quot;The Bodyguard,&quot; will speak at her funeral on Saturday, according to a source with knowledge of the funeral plans.

The ceremony will also feature performances by Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, who is Houston's godmother, the source said Thursday.



On Thursday at the church, metal barricades were being erected around a tribute area in front, where fans left balloons, candles and photographs of the singer.

Inside, funeral directors met with members of the Newark police, who will provide security for the event, said police Sgt. Ronald Glover.

But Samuel DiMaio, Newark police director, told reporters Thursday his advice to fans and curious members of the public was to stay home and watch the ceremony on television, as they will not be able to get close to the church.

The service is expected to be made available for television and web streaming, Houston's publicist said.

A perimeter will be set up for four blocks in two directions, and two blocks in the other directions, DiMaio said. The closest the public will be able to get is a staging area two blocks away.

Because of the police perimeter, a large screen will not be erected outside the church for the public to view the service. The church had said earlier it hoped such a screen could be in place.

Authorities have no security concerns, DiMaio said, but the priority is protecting the privacy and safety of the family and invited guests.

New Hope Pastor Joe Carter said Thursday the service will be personal and dignified.

Asked how Houston's family is doing, Carter said, &quot;They're holding strong.&quot;

Meanwhile, a steady stream of people drove by the church Thursday, some slowing down to snap pictures and others getting out of their cars to pose in front of the memorials.

Some fans said they are disappointed the family is not holding a public memorial for Houston, but others said they understood the family's wishes.

Private funeral for Houston Saturday Houston's death certificate, filed Wednesday, listed her cause of death as &quot;deferred,&quot; meaning a determination is delayed pending more information. Speculation has grown while authorities await the outcome of toxicology tests that could take weeks.
