NEW YORK, USA (AP) — US prosecutors in New York have asked a judge to impose a 23-year prison sentence on a Jamaican drug kingpin who admitted his leadership in an international crime ring. Christopher Coke pleaded guilty to racketeering and assault charges in August. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday.

The New York Times reports that prosecutors filed a sentencing memorandum late Wednesday. They said Coke was so powerful in Jamaica that he had "virtual immunity from the reach of law enforcement" there.

They said Coke's drug trafficking ring moved guns and drugs between Jamaica and the United States and ordered murders, shootings and beatings.

In a letter to the judge in September, Coke accepted responsibility for his actions and asked for a sentence "below the guideline range.

Let I make myself clear....I did not support the manner in which the whole thing came about.
The USA and the Comrades played politics to the hilt and they got more than they wanted. but Dudus put this on himself, could have been done while he was still ahead.

Firstly, the judge is not supposed to impose a penalty based on how the person is perceived in another country, so the prosecutions recommendation is weak. Plus even if they take that into consideration, they would also consider that the supporting party lost the elections because of it so the threat is greatly reduced.

Second, the US didn't really go through anything much to get Dudus to the stand from a US-based law enforcement perspective - so they don't need to prove any point.

Finally, he didn't take it to trial, he didn't even burn the judge's time in appearing, so this is basically paperwork to the judge.

I am figuring 8-10 max, out between 6-8 for good behavior, dock a year and a half for time served, my guess is Dudus will be back in Jamaica earliest 2016, latest 2020.

No!
There is the constant refrain that Dudus know something, Dudus is protecting someone., Dudus should talk.
Dudus was the a criminal he has admitted to it and he was convicted for it. The only person he was protecting/is protecting is Dudus.

On the contrary the USA went through all kinds of legal and unconstitutional (aided by the Comrades, especially Peter Phillips), methods to get Dudus (or the target that Dudus represented).

I understand your point, but I don't think the US govt sees that as a huge burden as they did not commit US personnel to potential hostile fire during his apprehension.
