while some cxelebrate getting their oscar...i ask the question; why is hollyweird's academy so excitted to see blacks play subservient or negative roles?
why are they so eager to reward those roles with awards?

this is only one oscar winner out of maybe 50 to 100 other white female oscar winners...
but there have been maybe 5 to 10 black female winners...so a far higher percentage of those roles (at least 4) were negative compared to the percentage of white female roles;

sadly, we see this as 'their' awards...so whatever award we get we should just shut up and be thankful

Why is this SAD.. it is THEIR awards... They make THEIR MOVIES, They PICK the Stars... WE are an afterthought so it does not look sooooooooo bad... I hate that WE show up to the OSCARS KNOWING its not for WE even if WE nominated.. Even if WE have a BLACK FILM with an all WE cast. What would make a better IMPACT statement .

Anyway, even though TP never has and never will, win an Oscar, he is making more money now than many of those that showed up at the Oscars last night, Spike included.

TP's audience is predominantly black. Is it OK to laugh at our stereotypes if the author, director and producer of a movie is black ?

i'd rather see a flawed great black woman role win an oscar than a maid every other minute...

white women have won oscars for playing elizabeth, thatcher, etc.

i want to see a black woman win for playing nefertari or nanny of the maroons...but i won't hold my breath;

some of these multi-zillionnaires need to get together &amp; make a decent film or two...
