aai think head stones destroy the planet.
For me there is a spot on a Forbes estate in scotland near a ancient stone circle where they have ecological burials. No head stone an u can see a mountain. U plant a tree. Since my navel string fertilised a tree I think its fitting. I dont want a cofin just wrap my body in a crocus bag or two. There is heather in the feild and it is wild. Roe deer feed and kestrals are over head.
Plus it is a poke inthe eye to the Forbes,they owned some of my ancestors. My duppy fi haunt dem.Comment

one day when u stomach feel strong, SistaC, look up sky burial. for some people, that's the only way to deal with them remains.
i tell my kids i want to be cremated, mi younger dawta tell me no way, she a put mi someweh she can come look fimi. i tell her wateva, mi ago dead and past caring.
my mother has indicated to me that she wants to be cremated and her ashes spread at a certain location, and i told her i would respect her wishes if i live after her and have mi senses about me.Comment

ok...maybe dem can seh a likkle prayer an have a drink up in mi memory..

Some people opt for both full view wake and funeral, and cremation. I had to go through this ordeal for both of my parents. I think cremains in an urn with pictures at the service is plenty and it would have been a lot easier on me than the way it went down. The whole thing dragged on forever. One night the wake, the next morning funeral..then body is carted off to the crematorium, and hearse driven burial in an expensive urn the next day.
Most people I know that have been cremated were then later buried. The ones who are not buried are good business for me, I make beads & jewelry out of cremains.

Aye sah, Bredda RichD
on cremation. I have directed that my cremated remains are to be placed in a biodegradable box and buried is a small walled garden at my place of worship. Within six weeks all is disintegrated and I will be returned to the earth. Ashes to ashes.
But now dat Skelly mention Hellshire...

My dad was buried in 2008 and I have yet to visit his gravesite, just not something I have a desire to do. In fact of all my relatives I have never revisited the gravesite.
My Mom was cremated in 2009, her request and I have a beautiful urn with her ashes that I see everyday. We had a beautiful memorial service and repass dinner in her place of birth.
<span style="font-weight: bold">I have requested that my sons cremate me </span>and spread my ashes in my desired location. why would I want to be cremated? I dont want my sons to spend the money to put me in the ground, I think the going rate is around 6 or 7 thousand?
My mom was the first in our immediate family to be cremated.
One lady told me that she does not want to be buried because she do not like bugs and she does not want them crawling on her when she is dead.

boy, me still old fashioned, and believe in going to the gravesight whey me feel like me can talk to dem, and laugh wid dem and go chill wid dem,
but to all who waan be cremated, guess I will never get it...but so it go still~~

I should get some of the ashes.
I am against burial, dead wake, dead celebrations, but i have changed my mind after considering Motty's Funeral.
Maybe if he had a grave site it would bring more closure to a lot of people since he reached Rock Star Stage <span style="font-style: italic">(bigger than Jezas)</span>, but in the end it is family's choice.
One the other hand I passed a Cemetery today. Low to the ground markers with vase for fake flowers.
Some midst all the plastic-fakery, some vases were knocked over, others were very empty. Make you wonder, is this the reason the dear departed opt for being toasted? If they can't even get fake flowers as need why even have a marker.Comment

Dem call dat "ah complete burial" inna di USA, an dem charge yuh ah special fee fi yuh fi stay an watch dem lower di coffin an fill in di grave. Yuh haff specially request it, caa it tek up dat extra time, dat dem would normally bi using fi rip off another grieving family.
