This would be funny if it weren't so sad. The number one threat of death of a young black male in the US is from another young black male. That's a fact you cannot dispute.
It's not from the police or a white racist or for that matter a hispanic neighbor hood patrol nutcase.

Why is it that hundreds if not thousands of young black males are murdered each year in the US by other young black males and you all convienently ignore that issue, but this issue causes such a stir?

fireman, before we get into stats on black on black crime - and this is not the thread for it - we would need to have stats on white on white crime if we want to aim for parity in arguments.

i'm so sick of white folks trying to deflect the issue of criminal racist white behaviour by using this supposed concern about black on black crime. same thinking that probably drives zimmerman.

ok i will attempt to explain...
i agree with you that violence from other young males is a far bigger problem for &quot;black&quot; males than violence from police or wannabe-cops;
but that does not lessen the outrage of this case...it is two completely different subjects;
the case elicits outrage because it completely twists what law enforcement should be about...

a young man was targeted and killed by someone simply because of his appearance &amp; race...we all know the history of unjustified police killings of unarmed so-called &quot;minorities&quot;...
what was also extremely disturbing is the way that the official law-enforcement agents of that county acted after the incident...the victim was treated like the criminal &amp; the perpetrator was treated like the victim...in fact he has not yet been arrested;

so you are right that the black community should also be outraged at the violence within...but violence &amp; corruption from those who are sworn to protect is very chilling because they have the power of the state behind them...
one does not lessen the outrage of the other

With all due respect, I'm not trying to deflect any criminal issue. But, I'm sick of black folks screaming racism when the number one threat to their lives is from other blacks.
Whites are not the real threat to their lives being in danger and blacks kill more whites than whites kill blacks, and whites are the majority of the population...

...and I'm all for stats. So, when you are ready let's throw it all out there for viewing.

This is a pet peeve of mind because as a professional firefighter in Baltimore, I've been cleaning up the carnage for over 32 years. I've seen it all and than some. I've seen a lot of black children slaughtered and it has not been at the hand of whites.

Ah while back, dem arrested I think it was 4 dudes during the planning stage of such a plot. Recovered guns and all.

By the wah the FBI is now involved in this investigation of the shooting if the young Black kid that took place in Orlando FL area. Since the local police has a history of not charging in the past when similar cases went down wid dem police dept. Also seems like di kids civil rights may also hav bin violated? Which ofcourse is minor wen compared tuh di violation of his life.

Yeah J_kid .. that's what I was pointing out that we should not for one minute think that Prez Obama has been shielded from death threats or attempts at his life. They just don't broadcast it.

In circumstances where a hate crime is suspected..the FBI gets involved. Hate crime is a federal offense and that offense is not handled/investigated at the state level.

Glad to see them involved.
