I hear a high speed truck just run dem ova and they lost almost everything that could be lost in the local government elections. Anju left press conference in a huff after taking only 3 questions. I feel really bad for him, he was put in a very difficult situation. JLP needs to find a way of reconnecting with people in what is essentially PNP country.

It is really not that bad. The Comrades have virtually unchecked powers let's what they will do with it.
There is no one to stop the progress!
These gems you have to keep.
A rare local outtaview with the Comrade Leader.

Holness turns to Facebook to ask public for help
BY DENISE DENNIS Observer staff reporter [email protected]
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
FOLLOWING the withering loss at the polls on Monday, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness has turned to social networking site Facebook asking the public to make recommendations on how the party can improve itself.
A post on the Facebook page, which is named ‘Hon. Andrew Holness’, said now that the elections have passed, the JLP is in the process of rebuilding and would like to hear from the public.
“We need to know what can be done as an organisation to improve ourselves to give you better services that is needed in Jamaica land we love and to be the party of choice to the electorate,” the post said.
It then said persons could post recommendations as comments on the post or send direct messages to the inbox.
Within an hour, the post received over 100 likes and almost 100 comments.
Comments on the post showered praise and respect on the party while others offered criticisms and made recommendations.
One person responded by telling Holness to remain strong despite his loss at the general election in December and at the local government elections.
“A lot of us are still by your side supporting you and the party,” the comment said.
Another person suggested that the JLP rebuild from the ground up by working through the councilors.
“Some of the old faces need to go, work with the young people seeing that they have the stronger voice in this country,” that person said, adding that the JLP needs to sharpen their organisational skills and learn to listen to the people.
The ruling People’s National Party took 12 of the 13 parish councils in the local government elections, including the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation and the Portmore Municipal Council.

Re: JLP imploding in 3, 2, 1...
It is going to take at least 2 election cycles for the JLP to recover from this and that is only if the PNP screws up royally. 20+ years in the wilderness is not out of the question. Jamaica has a huge tolerance for foolishness from the PNP, not so from the JLP. JLP needs to learn to talk bread and butter issues. They should not have ridiculed the bruk down JEEP without putting out there own concrete proposal.
