if it does not then next time a person of colour is adjudge by a negative sterotype there is not a reason to complain...

And while others can hide behind a yanki or kanadian accent, I have a Jamaican accent. So sterotypes are foisted on me, where is my locks, have i heard about bob seacond BMW, bob sledge team, do I smoke weed, how come I am not laid back, am I a good dancer,, seacond hand .. comments on curry goats, flags, yeah mon... none do any harm either...

So reducing Jamaican into cliche by Jamaicans is not acceptable in any form is imho.. Course we all know that wearing a hoodie makes a young person a criminal...that does no harm either....

Sorry I am missing something here. There is not one of the statements she mentioned that was a negative stereotype. Now if she had mentioned ganja or guns you would have reason to complain.

Seriously Wahalla sometimes you come across as less fun than watching paint dry....and I just don't believe that you are THAT much of a boring stick in the mud.

That's why sometimes I don't even bother coming by for half a year or more. There is a time for serious discussions and I have posted many of them. This is light hearted and fun. PERIOD!

If you want something to complain about, why don't you complain about the Miss Jamaica's breeding out of wedlock and embarrassing Jamaicans in front of the whole world. Now THAT is perpetuating negative stereotypes. There is a discussion right now about Yendi.

The lady had sex- <span style="color: #FF0000">her choice</span>. More power to her. .Most Jamaicans have had that experience....alot of them had as a consequence become pregant...I see no embarassment in that.. I beleive that in Jamaica having children out of wedlock is more common place that having children in wedlock.....

More embarassing is the fact that if she was a part of Ms World competion she wore a bathing suit and stillettos.. that is really embarassing.

Jamaica had a law in the 70's that removed tje stigma from children outside wedlock...I beleive that this was initiated by Dudley Thompson...

Building a stereotype may be fun to u, but its has consequences....

I repeat there was no sterotyping at not time did she even imply that all Jamaicans have patty crumbs in their car. There was absolutely no harm done. If you want to about nutten...bawl galang but the cry cry baby and stick in the mud labels do seem to be an excellent fit.

She set out simplistic rules base on a narrow view.. and then applied it to every Jamaican who lives overseas....That is stereotyping...Because it is meant as a joke does nto deflect from what it is...Again if your son was arrested for wearing a hoodie that would be sterotyping... profiling.... There is no difference...sterotyping... she plays the game of cheap laughs built on sterotype that has gained popularist acceptable.. it is not....
