The Tax Administration Jamaica is says it is working to recover at least $210 million in unpaid taxes.
The sum was arrived at based on assessments following calls to the tax cheat hotline.
The hotline was established on May 1 last year, as part of efforts to clamp down on suspected tax dodgers.
Communication Officer at Tax Administration Jamaica, Leighton Beckles, said the majority of the reports received related to under-reporting, failure to file and the failure to pay over payroll taxes.
He said of the 225 cases under investigation 105 have been closed or referred to other public bodies for action.
Beckles is encouraging members of the public with information about suspected tax cheats to call 1-888-292-4328 or 1-888-TAX-HELP.
