You are right .....I think he looked on the Election landscape and saw that his Party would have lost with him there. But you have to ovesstand Bruce.
Bruce Golding felt he was the anointed, he felt he could do no wrong and that his projected character would always carry him through.
He wanted the Manley teflon with even less substance that Saint Michael. When he did not get the pass, he was left broken.
Hubris was his downfall.
