A former politician has defended her decision to accept money from David Smith’s investment scheme Olint in the run up to the 2007 general election.

Sally Porteous who was the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate for Central Manchester, said she was not aware of any allegations against Smith at that time.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Speaking this morning on Nationwide radio</span>, Porteous who is now the Custos of Manchester, said the money received from David Smith was considered a regular donation.

I was one of the very first on this board who recognized OLump for what it is and called it a Ponzi Scheme. We had many long discussions and most time since I am not educated, worse not a financial expert had to battle fan-favourites who insisted that OLump was ligit.

I said it was Ponzi from jump-street but put your money in at the top and take the first earnings and run before it collapsed.
Anyone can check the records there was a famous post on the Board, that ran for years re investment in Jamaica.

Weasel words meant to confuse and avoid the issue.
