Yeah she better keep that address, she is going to need it.
She cannot change the culture of Jamaicans which is what is needed to to fix the cost of energy.
Plus i suspect when LNG don't work she might push Coal which would be nothing short of a disaster.

Oh. Yanki plan come to fruition.

1) Throw rumours of Communism into the mix so that the upper class flees
2) Destabilise a growing Jamaica by using it as a Cold-War battlefield
3) Tie Jamaica down to IMF loans and destabilise the economy further
4) Take over some Central American companies and force them to grow bananas and pressure the WTO to open up the market so Jamaica's could be crushed
5) Force Jamaica to make bad economic choices (under said IMF agreements) that are not in the best interests of the people
6) Watch as brain drain ensues and the educated flee to North America
7) Send nominally educated Americans to Jamaica to take over jobs vacated by smart people
8) conquest

We Jamaicans know if we make stupid choices and mash up JPS, our country suffers. This is the speech of someone weh neva have light lock-off yet. Who can spend all the want on credit and sort it out later. Yankis make quick decisions and doan cayta which poor people dead..

That is why no CEO, even if they are reasonable and willing to bend over double can solve JPS vs Jamaicans problem.
It will take a 180% change in the culture of energy use to make JPS and Jamaican Consumers coexist peacefully.

I<span style="font-weight: bold">f the Jamaican government wants to break the monopoly on electricity distribution, the best way to do it is to buy out the majority owners of Jamaica Public Service Company </span>Limited (JPS), the utility's new CEO said Tuesday.

Concurrently, the power utility announced preliminary plans to build a US$475-million 100-megawatt petcoke fuel plant as the second phase of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project. These projects fall under its five-year US$1.5-billion capital expenditure programme.

Liberalisation without a buy-out would send negative signals to foreign investors, JPS CEO Kelly Tomblin said in a speech to a Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) meeting in New Kingston.

<span style="font-weight: bold">JPS is owned 40 per cent by Marubeni Corporation, 40 per cent by Korea East-West Power and 19.9 per cent by the Government of Jamaica. The other 0.1 per cent is held by individuals.</span>

&quot;Basically, the government can buy it back from us and then they can liberalise it, and we are certainly open to that. We do not want to stand in the way,&quot; Tomblin said.

The parent company wants to get out of their obligations and cant find a buyer on the market as it is a loss maker... (Go figure out how...)... JPS has been bought and sold how many times in the last decade three or five ??? Putting it back in goverment ownership is back where this process was...

On the contrary.
JPS is profitable for it partners.
It is the GOJ that is unprofitable and Anne knows it.
the Comrade GOJ is playing its usual game. Pretending to care. Wanting to have its cake and eat it.

So it cannot run JPS as a profitable concern, but does not want JPS to operate in a Free Market. Jamaicans cannot afford Electricity period, not the way it used in Jamaica. The State need to push conservation and open the Market for Alternative Energy.
