It's quite pathetic actually. My grandmothers were the same. I spoke at the funeral for one grandmother. I said good things about her but also said I hoped the mentality would die out with that generation...it hasn't. She was so screwed up she didn't even want to accept a Black scandal bag when she went shopping. Really pathetic. When the Queen was taken off the Jamaican coins, she was sure it was a sign that the world had ended.

I suppose we should take this discusssion into a new thread. I would prefer for one of the male boardites who was raised in Jamaica to start it thought. I will be attacked because of I am a woman and accused of trying to impose foreign ideas. I will participate though.

I also don't get why hot and articulate guys like Tyson Beckford, Shemar Moore and Tyrese Gibson would need to go on a dating show. These guys should have been married and settled LONG time.

Aye Sah - Tropi when nice women doan drop their baggy fast enoough for Tyson he cannot sit around and wait for them it is perfectly normal for boys and men to help themselves. As a matter of fact girls/women do it too. Nothing wrong with this - perfectly normal. What I cannot understand how can it be a sex tape when he is the only one on the tape? It should be a feel up hand down tape.

When I said Jamaicans are comfortable with their blackness I wasn't talking about the high (or low depending on your preference)-colour ones like your family. I was talking about the ones that are actually black.

Why not? She was absolutely pathetic in that regard. Do you know she treated my sister differently because she is slightly darker than me? It wasn't apparent when we were growing up but it became clear as adults. My sister didn't bother flying down for the funeral.

I addressed it in 2 sentences. She deserved it. Perfectly appropriate. No one was shocked.

Le'ts get this straight...my family is not high colour, seen? (It makes my head spin when you talk like this....high, low 1/1,000,00 Black.) My grandmothers were both Black but this did not stop them for having really stupid ideas.
