Summer and her producer Giorgio Moroder defined the dance music era of the '70s and influenced acts like Duran Duran and David Bowie to enter the genre.
Summer married Brooklyn Dreams singer Bruce Sudano back in 1980. They had two daughters together. </div></div>

Hot stuff singer Donna Summer is understood to have died this morning after a battle with cancer.
The five-time Grammy winner, known as the queen of disco, passed away in Florida, according to TMZ.
The news has not yet been confirmed by her spokesperson.
The star is best know for her string of 70s hits, including Last Dance and Bad Girls.
