Police confirmed that the body was found wrapped in a sheet inside his apartment. His throat was slashed and his body had several stab wounds. The find ended a desperate search by family members and friends for him, which began around 3:00 pm on Monday.
"Resident alerted the police around 8:00 am after smelling a foul odour coming from an area of the premises," the police force's information arm, the Constabulary Communication Network said in a statement.
"On their arrival, Graham's body was found inside the premises," the CCN said.
Several business associates of Graham yesterday expressed shock at his death.
"We first became suspicious when he failed to turn up for work on Tuesday and that was what triggered our suspicions," said former Member of Parliament for St Mary South East Tarn Peralto, one of Graham's businesS associates.
The former MP was among scores of friends and colleagues who gathered along Roachdale Crescent where police were up to yesterday evening still searching for clues into the cause of death.
The group members anxiously waited to get confirmation from Scene of Crime investigators who carried out their probe on the spot.
"We are shocked by the discovery here today. Graham was a very meticulous and professional individual and news of his gruesome death has left us all surprised," said one colleague who asked not to be named.
There were other business associates who openly criticised the police, claiming that authorities dragged their feet after a missing person report was filed.
"I believe that if the police had acted quicker on reports made, the outcome would have been different in this case," said another of Graham's colleagues.
The colleague also made reference to an alleged mysterious phone call, which he claimed was made from a motorist telling of a man who had possession of the vehicle belonging to Major Graham, hours after he went missing.
"The call came from a motorist who called Graham's office asking about documents to Graham's vehicle," the colleague said.
"The motorist during the phone conversation, said that he was involved in a motor vehicle accident with a man whom he said was Graham.
According to Graham's colleague, the caller said that the man, whom he insisted Graham, collided into his vehicle and had presented documents to the motorist inviting him to make further contact at the office where Graham worked.
A report was made to police after the motorist called Graham's Hope Road office.
Police yesterday confirmed that they had received reports about the incident and had started an investigation.
"The police have received the reports and are looking at all angles at this time," said a senior police officer.
Graham was a special advisor and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Liguanea in St Andrew. He is a past president of the Jamaican Institute of Quantity Surveyors where he works as a partner and director
