I always think of its original intent: to shift the burden of anglo saxon hegemony from a failing, weary British Empire to the newer emerging united states to counter the russian and Japanese expansion in Asia... one terrible poets vision....Kipling.. and that is all I think of when ever a Disney interpretation.... What is ur interpretation ?

Re: The White Man's Burden
Wasnt the original meaning the reason all dat colonialisaiion took place? White people in their overwhelming egotism thought that the Continent of Africa had no virtue of its own n had been waiting on them, the white man , to being it some.... : for that matter, the world outside their borders... Ludicrous wen u consider it...white people bringing their wisdom etc to a continent that already had learning etc... Where people bathed ...

Re: The White Man's Burden
The original was written to celebrate something of Queen Victoria her Jubilee... but dem used another poem by Kipling- hence Japanese expansionism as well as the ongoing rivalry of Russia.. He then published it to celebrate to celebrate the overthrow of spain colonial empire in the Philippines by the US... The Disaster they call it in spain...
There are quiet a few rebuttaks called the black mans burden. A version by Garvey... and A film staring Harry down the way where the nights are gay Belafonte and John not being sued for making a pass at a male massuer Travolta
But there is not Taino's Burden...

that was the old white man's burden...
nowadays it's all about the white WO-man's burden;
it can be observed in the likes of sandra bullock, brangelina, and many others...
it is to save the black race by adopting their babies one by one...
no matter what happens the whites will eventually save the blacks from themselves
